During the design of the logo, I closely work with the owner of the shop to create the most authentic looks of coffee beans and tea leaves. Coffee beans have various types and looks, and in this design, I used the look of the beans that are sold by the store. The tea leaf is open and upright, symbolizing a healthy leaf and quality tea farm source. The curve in between stands for the fragrance and water. In this design, I used the concept of continuation, thus the logo looks smooth and dynamic. The color orange is used to give people a sense of warmth, just like these heartwarming drinks.
“水木” (water and woods) is a term widely used to represent our university. Since the combination of the two characters in Chinese is “沐”, the campus media is named accordingly, and I participated as the designer. The main purpose of this organization is to filter important information out of our messy mailbox. In this design, I used precise lines and CNC-machining-like edges to symbolize our rigorous working attitude and the accuracy of the information we provide.
In this design, the outer frame symbolizes the theatre. I used the number "561" to create a sense of the stage, and 6 represent the curtain. The typography of “drama” is specifically designed for this logo, using a lot of circles to represent the audience. Since most of the play is children's theatre, I decided to use more cheerful colors creating this joyful feeling. I added a final touch to this design, that is "561" is designed to look like a theater telescope.
