Design Decisions for Character Design
Baby-face bias and contour bias.
To enhance the character's appeal, I utilized both baby-face bias and contour bias, crafting a collection of stickers to flavor text-based communication. The magpie's head and eyes are designed to be round and large, characteristics often associated with infants, and incorporating smooth, flowing contours, I aimed to elicit a universally appealing sense of adorableness.
Big and round head and eyes are the key elements of cuteness.
Micro expressions and body language.
The most important function of stickers or emojis is to bring non-verbal communication to virtual interactions. To maximize the effect, I did some research on micro expressions, and try to apply to my character.

Bird behavior.
Besides being cute and expressive, I also want the stickers to feel like real-life magpies. When I design this character, I closely observed wild magpies, making sure the stickers didn't look like a human in a bird form.
